The Philosophy of Ralph Waldo Emerson.
The history of an illustrious American philosopher, poet, essayist and the distinguished leader of the transcendentalism, Emerson triumphant dates back in the year 1803-1882. His affluent to be an American philosopher faced varied negative impactions and his confidences build up was from aunt, Mary Moody Emerson who interpolated his thoughts as he was growing for several years after the death of his father. He is known as the philosopher of the early contemporary period.
Emerson’s philosophical extravagancies started after graduating from Harvard in 1821 where he was making a living. His creativity and passion for becoming a critical thinker did not ended after the death of his wife in 1832 but instead, he visited countries such as Italy, France, and Middle East with the main focus pointing out at the Britain. He achieved worldwide fame as a lecturer and author in essays such as "Fate," "Self Relianceâ€, and "The Over- Soulâ€. Americans were influenced based his epistemological moods. In the book, "An Uneasy Solitude." (Maurice, 139), in his organizing victory, he considered individualism and the society in his work. In his essay book, "Self-Reliance" he motivated the readers to have a trust of their own thinking and ideas instead of believing on the popular thoughts and complying to the majority. Emerson’s main theme was on the trust of once own inner voice.
The author in his thoughts, involves creativity in the mind and as a small child who speaks or talk freely his mind, the corrupted adults have no alteration to instruct him to comply with their thoughts. He stresses on the envy and the imitation of once ideas as readers should be proud of their own individualism and should have the confidence to express their views and thoughts from their originality. He strengthens people to live to their own ideas even when denunciation comes into existence.
Emerson’s approaches and dimensions differ in ideologies between nature and spirit. Philosophically, the universe is seen to consist of soul and nature, according to Ralph, nature perceives and wears the spirit colors and also emphasizes that the truth and the virtue of love can only be understood when humankind have and live in harmony with the natural world. With his creativity based on nature he classified that viewing the world from different angles brings lots of varying assumptions as it depends on the point of actual view and actions. His contemporary study of nature was a valued aspect to him as he inspired many people about the existence of the universe and there components (Ronald, and Myerson, 48 and 429).
The crisis of the philosophy in the modern world is seen as a mirror of the nature and as self-reliance equips one to develop a philosophical mind and thought (Michael H. McCarthy, 363). To the final assumption, Ralph is seen as a role model in the contemporary society as he promotes creativity in the American profile.
