In the United States, the government has developed strategies to protect its most critical infrastructure from attacks, dangers, or threats. Security is one of the significant areas in which the government puts more effort and funding to protect its citizens. Preparedness grants help in supporting people from terrorism and other emergencies (FEMA). Due to this, it comes up with a strategy to protect different modes of transport from future attacks. The methods of entry include the air, water, at the ports, and roads at the border points. The U.S. Customs and Border Patrol regulates who is entering the nation (U.S. Customs and Border Protection). This paper will be looking at various reasons why the aviation sector is more likely to be exposed than others.
Due to the vast number of people who go through the airports every day, it is currently hard to ultimately realize the targets for the terrorist and other forms of crime, unlike on land border points where only a small number of people go through it in a day.
