Abstract
Depression is a mood disorder that can affect thinking, actions, and everything one does. Depression in older patients shows different symptoms than the younger patients. In older people, it also varies in severity and can lead to serious health issues i.e cardiac problems, and can even cause death. It is essential to know when it is important to see a doctor for the life and well-being of one’s family members and loved one’s. The paper discusses the consequences of depression in old-aged patients, and the need for treatment to save their life.

Depression in the elderly
Feeling down or upset is a part of life (NIH, n.d.) but depression involves a condition or a mood disorder that is persistent and long-lasting for over a period of six months.
