Evolution of American Military
Introduction
The United States is a global military power and therefore commands substantial respect across the spectrum. The U.S military troops played a significant role in bringing relative peace to the world following the events of the first and second world wars. Pax Americana is often used to describe the concept of relative peace that was witnessed in the Western Hemisphere and later in the rest of the world starting around the middle of the twentieth century. The relative peace often applied to the case of Pax Americana has been thought to have been caused by the preponderance of power enjoyed by America.
In most instances, Pax Americana has been used in modern settings to describe the peace enjoyed by the great powers after the Second World War in 1945. In this respect, Pax Americana has been used to indicate the economic and military influence of the United States in relation to countries in Europe and Asia.
Thesis
From a historical background and the developments in military and global pace thus far, Pax Americana or a world military force is not reflective of the American capabilities.
The American military is a powerhouse across the international spectrum. Together with its allies, the United States has played a significant role in maintaining world peace through military interventions. However, it would be unfair to describe a Pax Americana or a world military force reflective of the American military capabilities. There is more to what is being enjoyed today in terms of world peace rather than being considered the consequences of the capabilities of the United States Army troops and the military infrastructure.
While sections would want to believe that the American military has played a massive role in bringing forth world peace or the Pax Americana as it would be described, there is more to it. Military might and capabilities have become a relic of the distant cold war.
