Introduction
The purpose of this experiment is to find the molarity (concentration) of an unknown amount of vinegar by titration. This will be accomplished by titrating it with a standardized amount of sodium hydroxide. Stoichiometrically relating the molarities of the titrant (sodium hydroxide) and the titrand (vinegar) will help us find the molarity of vinegar. The sodium hydroxide will, however, be standardized by the use of potassium hydrogen phthalate, a common solution used to standardize bases.
