Visual Analysis (Movie Review Sample)
Visual analysis is simply describing an image in the way you perceive it. Therefore, the features are supposed to symbolize the character’s feelings and the message intended to be shared. The color displayed on the image is a dark grey that symbolizes the mood of the character. Mostly it is associated with neutrality but in this image, it brings out the sad, sorrowful mood. Similarly, the image lighting is dull that describes the intense feeling or the weight of the feeling the character is carrying.
The sky is filled with clouds that cover the entire city. This symbolizes the character’s way to hide emotions from the rest of the people. The character is lonely in his thoughts and feelings and clouds his feeling from people maybe because he was hurt before and trusting other people is a challenge. The city represents the thoughts of the character. Their size shows that he can handle most of the fears that he faces. But there is one thought represented by the taller building and closer to the cloud that the character is unable to handle and cries for help from other people but unwilling to let it be seen by others that is why it’s still clouded.
The city is quiet, there are no people or any movement. This shows the character enjoys being alone or an introvert maybe. The body floating on the water displays calmness in that the thoughts are not swayed by anything despite being lonely, sad, or depressed. Similarly, the character could be displaying that when in deep thoughts finding a quiet, calm place like an ocean in his mind he can let go of the sad mood and be calm.
