Sid and Nancy
Summary
The film is based on Sid's real-life story and his girlfriend Nancy, who were both heroin addicts. It all started in the year 1978. Sid is seen being arrested by the police officers in the Chelsea Hotel, a shocking encounter for him and his followers due to Nancy's death, his lover. Upon arrival at the station, the police were anguished by Sid not explaining the scene of what led to the termination of Nancy's life.
The two Sid and Nancy had met early in 1977 in London along with his friend Johnny and their band. The intention for them being there was to bed the sex pistol. Sid, on the encounter with Nancy he rejected her as well other stars who were at the arena. Driven by sympathy Sid decided to give her a chance, and she sold him the drugs.
Opposite of the expectation of many, Sid and Nancy felt affection for each and were madly in romance. The intimate relationship between the two was hazardous since drugs drove Sid to leave the band, and always became drunks and abusive to people. He turned a deft ear on the plights of his friends and advisors to end the toxic relationship.
They decided to move to New York and start a new life, him being a solo singer with Nancy as his accomplice. Due to being together, they become slaves of heroin, leading to his lover having stress. Their passionate and toxic relationship had to come to an end; Sid's decision to end the relationship was detrimental as Nancy could not bear the pain of losing Sid; she tells Sid to end her life. He was leading to a fight that caused Nancy's death as Sid had stubbed her. Sid is released from prison by her mom, who also abuses heroin. Later Sid dies due to an overuse of heroin. Music made Sid meet with Nancy and begin their toxic relationship.

The view of society on rock and roll
Rock and roll played a vital role in society by educating and scorning devious acts of society. The cultural practices conducted today were influenced by rock and roll. A lot of people did not like the music because Black Americans started it. Especially parents resented the music since the music encouraged youths not to follow the rules and question them. Also, the music singers were viewed to be drug addicts who had no had gone astray. The movies also show that rock and roll singers are suicidal as Sid killed Nancy.
Mostly the lyrics of the songs had vulgar language. People, mostly adults, resent the music that was sung. More so, the music was not pleasing to white Americans as the music integrated the culture. The rock and roll, little by little, made society realize that all of them are despite color or gender. Hence, the music contributed positively to the abolishment of racism as seen the music was also pleasing to young girls who were selling drugs.
The focus was both on the people making the music as well as the music itself.
As it is vividly seen in the movies, people focused on music and some on musicians singing the music. For instance, the whites did not listen to the music since it originated from the blacks Americans. At another point, the parents denied their children to listen to music since it had a vulgar language that was not suitable for them. Furthermore, the people who sang the song were not pleasing, so the songs were loved by teenagers and young girls fast. In point of view, the people concentrated more on the music since, despite Sid's murder case, the children were still ready to listen to the music after his release.
Dream Girls
Summary
The dream girls are a movie about three ladies: friends; Detroit, Effie, and Deena, who had a soft spot for fame and wealth. The girls were starving hard to make a name out of themselves back in the 1960 s. In the pursuit of their career, they were invited to a contest where one famous manager noticed them. The manager known as Curtis Taylor had gotten married, but despite it, he had a habit of making love to his singers to pay back to what he offered.
With this, the three lasses who were very young and attractive were a little hesitant to agree to sing along with their womanizer boss as the backup singers for a bang called James Thunder Early. But as soon they realized they were already in, they had no choice but to take the job. Along was Effie's brother, who as well as a talented musician who was engrossed by it. He stood up and decided to be independent and sing by themselves. Hence the music was changed from RnB to pop as they had dreamt of back in the days.
The band changed from Early to The Dreams more so the singers' roles were changed. Deena being the leader of the band, took them to where they wanted. As seen, they become the talk of the town in New York City. They saw they had missed something vital in their life: family love and affection; hence, they agreed to quit and settle down with a family. Henceforth music played an essential role in making them a fortune and connecting them with various people.

Society view on the music
The movie's plot tries to portray that the women are supposed to be supporters of men as it is supposed to be. Therefore if men are the ones to be the heroes, this is vividly seen in the movies the Dreamgirl since, after all their achievements, they stopped pursuing their dreams of fame and prosperity and preferred being in a family setting.
The plot also shows how women in society have to succumb to challenging situations while pursuing their careers. In the movie, the boss is known to abuse those who work for him sexually, making him lack those who are willing to work for him. The act is a reflection of the society were are living in today. Many women get sexually abuse in the workplace as they are making ends meet. They are making their life miserable at the place of work. The writer also conveys a message that the quest for prosperity in life should not take the place of family and friends.
What the movies focus on
From my perspective, the movie focuses mainly on the singers since we have tried to show how the three friends came to be famous by singing and all they underwent to reach their goals. At one point, the singers had to leave their well-renowned life and start a new life with the family. Also, the movie has shown how they started until how they ended. The shift of character from being led by their boss to being independent and one of the girls emerging as their leader shows the movie focused on the characters, not their music.
