The Matrix
The Matrix movie is all about a young man called Thomas Anderson the year 1999, who lives many lives. For instance, he works as an employee for a software company during the day, then as a criminal hacker during the night operating under a pseudonym known as “Neo” to make himself more money. He is keen on getting to know the meaning of “Matrix” and that is where the story develop. The Matrix is a great science fiction movie that uses the same formula employed by other films within the same genre. The readings presented by Colin McArthur indicate that within the last few decades have seen postmodernism films start employing a new kind of intertextuality in form of innovative quotations. Matrix movie employs postmodern the use of postmodernism, reflexivity and intertextuality concepts which will be explored.
While watching the Matrix, one would realize that its definition spurs beyond just a science fiction movie of the times; it is spiritual and quite philosophical.
