“All the President’s Men” (1976)
All the President’s Men (1976), is a movie depicting a journalism investigation carried by Washington Post reporters; Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward. The movie depicts various influences of print media in the society. After the discovery of the Watergate scandal, the Washington Post came out strong in unearthing the misdoings in President Nixon’s office. Despite the success of the movie in exposing the president’s office, it also attracted attention on the place of the media in regards to dealing with sensitive legal issues. The FBI had already linked the burglary to the white house and traced their financing to President Nixon, within one week of the break in. As a result, Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward simply interfered with ongoing investigation. The work of Washington Post journalists hence can be deemed irrelevant and illegal.
