Parasite (2019)
The movie "Parasite 2019" was produced in 2019 and directed by Bong Joon-ho. This Korean black comedy thriller is about a poor family member hired as a highly-skilled individual for a job that needed to be done locally and plotting a wealthy family by actually invading the family. The title can be a bit misleading. If you have never seen a movie, you can mistake it for a film about a virus causing a zombie apocalypse. It is a kind of cliché. That's why this movie was outstanding. At first, you might think that the plot is a cliché, but when you do, you will soon find that it's more than a vague cliché movie with the following words: That is why they are called "parasites."
The movie is set in Korea, but that doesn't mean that different countries can't understand what the movie is trying to convey. Bong Joon-hob is convinced that the film is set in South Korea but does not deny the valid message behind the film, which intended to reach non-Korean viewers (Margolis). He worked hard to make this film known not only in South Korea but also in other Asian countries, making it the first non-English film to win the Oscar for Best Film. He has also won various awards, including Best Foreign Film Award and Best International Film Award (Margolis).
