The Movie STRICTLY BALLROOM is an Australian romantic comedy film that was released in the year 1992. The movie was directed by Baz Luhrmann. The producers were Miramax, M & A productions and Touchstone pictures. The major characters in the movie are Paul mercurio featuring as Scott Hastings, Fran (Tara Morice), Doug Hastings (Barry Otto), and Bill Hunter as Barry Fife, just to name a few. The central theme of the film revolves around Scott Hastings, a ballroom dancer from Australia, who by all means struggles to win the Pan-pacific Dance Federation Championship through the development of personal dancing styles. This paper outlines some of the striking elements that make the movie an interesting watch.
Some of the most captivating movies are those that compel people to take a chance, no matter the prevailing circumstances or the potential consequences. STRICTLY BALLROOM is a perfect match. In this film, nothing stifles the creativity of Scott Hastings and Fran who team up to form a formidable dancing duo. For instance, Barry Fife-the dance federation president-has a firm philosophy against the adoption of new steps and is angered by Scott Hastings’s trial of new dancing steps. Moreover, Liz-Scott Hastings’s partner-leaves for an aging champion who gives judges what they want. Scott Hasting eventually teams up with Fran who is considered an unattractive and inexperienced dancer.
