Cadbury Chocolate Company (CCC) has announced that it is embarking on a mission to reduce its carbon footprint by 40% by 2022. This ambitious initiative has been driven by the new strategic direction of the Board and Senior Management, which emphasises corporate social responsibility. As part of this initiative, you have been hired as a consultant to help CCC develop and implement new policies that will assist it in its new drive. Much of this work initially involves researching other, similar initiatives in order to devise a solution for CCC.
This self-study requires you to conduct this research in that context, i.e. you are a consultant to CCC helping them to develop their sustainability policies. The exercise does not relate to the actual company, which is only used here for figurative purposes, so the self-study will require you to conduct mostly research into the field of sustainability policy.
