Frontal Lobe
The frontal lobe is associated with motor processing and higher executive processes, such as problem-solving, planning, abstract thought, and judgment (Stuss & Floden, 2003, as cited in Sternberg & Sternberg, 2012). The dysfunctions associated with the frontal lobe include Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and Broca's aphasia. Alzheimer's disease is a neurodegenerative disorder, which includes memory loss, language difficulties, and executive process dysfunction (Burns, 2009). Parkinson’s disease is a chronic, progressive neurodegenerative disorder that affects muscle control and motor processing (DeMaagd & Philip, 2015). Broca’s Aphasia is a disorder characterized by the loss of speech and difficulty in interpreting feedback from stimuli (Tripathi, 2010).
Other Topics:
- Biological Changes Caused by Obesity Biological & Biomedical PaperDescription: Obesity is a health condition that is caused by the accumulation of triacylglycerols in the adipose tissues. The excessive weight gained causes severe biological changes that can lead to diseases and mortality. The biological changes are problematic since the adipose tissue acts as a contributor...2 pages/≈550 words| 6 Sources | APA | Biological & Biomedical Sciences | Research Paper |
