Taxonomy
In 1983, a scientist unearthed a virus which can cause (AIDS). According to the “International Scientific Committee” (1983), the virus was at the beginning called Human T-cell lymphotropic virus-type III/Lymphadenopathy-associated virus1 (HTLV-III/LAV ). Later, it was renamed to Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). The virus is of two species of the Lentivirus which are the causative agent for HIV infection and may later cause “Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome” (AIDS)9. AIDS which is considered a life-threatening condition in which there is an escalating failure in the immune system and may allow opportunistic infection9.
