Introduction
The impact of smartphones in our daily lives has not gone unnoticed. With more and more people gaining access to the internet and information as well, smartphones are slowly becoming a ‘basic’ need. Looking back at time, you had to use messengers or perhaps letters which took weeks, if not months, to arrive at its destination. Then give it another few days for you to get feedback. Today, unlike any age, information is spreading faster. From e-mail services to the social media, individuals and businesses can now instantly send each other messages. That’s not all. It is quite evident that social media has plays a significant role in making it easy for business to do detailed target marketing. Those ads you see on your Facebook feed are the secrets behind the billions dollars generated as revenue every year by this company.
Literature Review
One study was conducted by the Macro Consumer Research Org. A list of factors were investigated to gauge consumer preferences towards smartphones. The study even narrowed down further to get a clear vision of usage patterns and the attitudes of smartphone users. In brief, the findings showed that consumers were more likely to purchase handsets that they had heard about before, or one that had been recommended to them by their friends and family. (Kumari, 2004) This is one interesting topic of study, as in the near future, it will be simple predict the success or failure of any technology company. Technology is a very lucrative niche, and if a company in this sector fails to keep up with the pace and transition, doom might be awaiting.
