The documentary narrates the story of the harsh conditions and lives of Indonesia workers who went through great exploitation by Nike. Nike is a multinational company that designs and develops apparel, foot-wears, accessories, and services. The workers are frantic and desperate where poverty makes them live in slums. They also work for extra hours to meet their needs. They are hopeless and have to depend on the work they do for survival. The employer takes advantage of the workers' poverty to exploit them.
From the workers' statement about having nothing else apart from their work, it is a signal of society's ignorance due to desperation and poverty. Integrating western values into this society would bring great social and economic change (Keady & Jim 2012). Diverting the mentality of the society from industrial employment to self-employment or business will reduce the fear of surviving under the mercies of the company’s owners. Besides, by adopting good ethical principles such as loyalty, integrity, fairness, honesty, law-abiding, and respect for workers in the business, the industrial company’s mode of operation will improve. Also, there will be a positive increment in productivity.
