Abstract
The British Petroleum (BP) oil pill stands as the most massive marine accident globally. The incident left severe health issues to thousands of people and fatal challenges to wildlife, including 11 crew members' death. This case study analysis reviews the case study on BP and the Deepwater Horizon disaster of April 20, 2010, to establish the leading issues and define the critical problems presented. Under examination are the organizational strategies that BP put in place to scale the heights to be one of the world's largest oil corporations. Additionally, the analysis focuses on the Macondo well and the instances of negligence to safety measures that resulted in the oil spillage and explosion. Also, the analysis focuses on the history of BP in managing such kinds of disasters and the challenges it had in making sound decisions that could prevent disasters. The relationship between BP and its partners remains a center of focus on understanding the disaster's events. The analysis establishes that the state of safety at the Deepwater Horizons, the organizational behavior and structure of BP, and its partnerships would have been the major leading causes of the disaster.
