This has been a raging debate from time immemorial with benefits of both modes tabled down and arguments raising both proponents and opponents of both sides. Should cars be really banned from cities and we entirely rely on public transportation? Will public transportation fill the gap that often drives us to acquire vehicles? What would be the merits of adopting this policy as opposed to maintaining the status quo? Will the new transportation innovations and entrepreneur advances be able to support the public in whole? Yes, private cars should be banned in cities in favor of public transportation
Public transportation is better for our environment with less noise and gas emissions. This emission is one of the high contributing factors of global warming, smog and acid precipitation. Matters emission are measured differently depending on the transportation mode. IN cars it is measured by the number of cars and total trip length. Emission from rail depend on product of trip length and frequency of train operation.
