Understanding the influence of unconscious dynamics such as motives and fear of a heterosexual woman with the female orgasmic disorder.
Purpose Statement
There are no clear neurophysiological mechanisms that can define orgasm in a woman, however, it is believed that to be a reflex-like response heterosexual women exhibit when they reach or exceed their plateau of sexual intercourse excitement. At this stage, the women experience rhythmic contractions in their rectal sphincter, vaginal barrel, and the uterus. The rhythmic contractions start at high velocity of 0.8-second intervals and continue to diminish in regularity, duration, and intensity and normalcy are regained. A heterosexual woman can exhibit different organism responses during sexual intercourse but still achieve the same level of excitement. Several physiological and anatomic changes occur in women following orgasm with the aim of reversing the increased excitement rate to normal (Watson et al., 2017).
The vagina narrows and shortens, uterus return to the pelvic region, and the vasocongestion reduces. However, there are women who are incapable of experience organism, a state referred to as orgasmic disorder. Several psychological and physiological conditions may cause heterosexual women to experience difficulty with orgasm. The primary objective of this study is to determine the effects of unconscious dynamics such as motives and fear of a heterosexual woman with the female orgasmic disorder (Brody, 2017).
Research Method
The Thematic Apperception Test
It is a research method based on narratives instigated by several pictures with the expected visual effects. Using this method, participants are exposed to pictures that influence their senses and emotions to respond to given questions. These pictures are supposed to help the participant experience constructive reality in their responses. The examiner or researcher in this case, therefore, interpret the meaning of the participants’ responses and group them accordingly. For this particular research study shall use a standardized scoring system that provides reliable quantitative information on unconscious dynamics such as motives and fear of a heterosexual woman with the female orgasmic disorder. The Thematic Apperception Test will determine a scoring system for both motives and fear to provide information on their influence on orgasm disorder in a woman (Winder et al., 2015).
Motive
It is the intention of having the sexual intercourse. A heterosexual woman can have sex with the motive of gaining sexual pleasure, becoming pregnant, and for material exchange. Using the Thematic Apperception Test to determine the motive score for this study, will help categorize the heterosexual women with an orgasmic disorder on the basis of their motives for sexual intercourse pleasure, birth, or material gain. Material gain motive will have more score, followed by birth, and then pleasure (Watson et al., 2017).
Fear
It is the act of anticipating for the unknown. Fear always cause negative feelings about sex. A heterosexual woman can either fear of contracting sexually transmitted diseases or becoming pregnant without a plan during the sexual intercourse. The Thematic Apperception Test will determine the fear score the number of a...
