Environmental Factors and Health Promotion Pamphlet: Accident Prevention and Safety Promotion for Parents and Caregivers of InfantsStop Drug Abuse for the Sake of Infants Health and SafetyWhy is it important?High infant mortality rate, babies are dying from abuse of drugs. Second hand smoke from an environment of smoking individuals’ affects kids both born and unborn (Wexelblatt et al., 2015). Mothers in hospitals have admitted to being exposed to tobacco and other drugs after their babies died after the same drugs were found in their system.Addiction to drugs, some children, those that don’t succumb to the drugs get addicted to them. If this drugs are kept and used in the home, then who is responsible to a child’s interdependence on drugs? It is the parent or caregiver off course. An infant addicted to drugs is not what we want to hear, these are the children we are raising to be leaders of tomorrow, let’s take care of them
Stop Drug Abuse, It Affects Your ChildrenUse of drugs like tobacco, cocaine and dependence on painkillers and antidepressants is on the rise. Parents with dependency on these drugs put their infants at risk (some are already at risk)it has to stop. Children are on the watch, they know where you store the drugs, and they observe how you take the drugs too. Nothing will stop them from doing what they see you do. Tobacco is smoked recklessly today, people have no idea how the second hand smoke can be detrimental to the health of those around them, mostly infants.I am looking to inform the public on how to stop and be careful on what drugs/medication they expose to their kids. The environment needs to stay clean and off hazardous elements that can pose a threat to the infants.Student Name
Long term respiratory illnesses, drug use in an environment with infants are the first cause of respiratory problems in kids. Lung cancer, chronic bronchitis and asthma attacks, are just a few of many respiratory illnesses that are affecting children. This can be stopped, it should be stopped.Parents, Is the Environment you live in Safe for your Precious Child?
Avoid substance abuse while pregnant and this will go a long way in keeping your baby safe, all through the three trimesters. Everything a mother takes including drugs are passed to the baby through the bloodstream, when you smoke the baby smokes (Tsantefski, Humphreys & Jackson, 2014).Keep the environment free of drugs, this is a great way to keep infants health and safety in check. Both crawling and walking babies can reach hidden places, parents and caregivers should keep all drugs and medication out of reach. If you have substance abuse problem, please don’t let your child suffer too. Seek help with the baby and find a community centre or hospital that caters for such needs in terms of rehabilitation, many have benefited from this.
FAQS and Testimonials: What You Need to Keep in MindSometimes we forget our little ones and the little things that may affect them. For a safe environment for them to thrive the parents and caregivers need to be careful of what is around babies ("Principles of Drug Addiction Treatment: A Research-Based Guide (Third edition)," 2012).When not sure of something substance related that you are exposing you infant to, talk to your pediatrician about it. If an infant is displaying questionable symptoms take him/her to the pediatrician.Clean your environment, don’t smoke or take your child to places exposed to tobacco smoke. Infants need a stronger immune than adult, little exposure can mean drastic infections to an infant.Environmental Factors and Health Promotion Pamphlet: Accident Prevention and Safety Promotion for Parents and Caregivers of Infants
