Bundle practices as a solution to Ventilator Associated Pneumonia (VAP) is based on theoretical perspective of convergent-care approach. The approach focuses on grouping several evidence-based interventions in a single protocol that ensures desired outcomes are achieved in improving patient outcome (Fulbrook& Mooney, 2003). The rationale for selecting the theory lies in the fact that bundles practices is aimed at the collective construction of a care package to contain VAP. In containing VAP, the care bundles comprise of some initiatives from both healthcare providers and the patients. Each of these parties is obligated to perform some tasks of ensuring ultimate care is attained in reducing the incidence of VAP. No single initiative can produce the desired outcome (Laverick & Jalongo, 2011).

The various bundle practices that can be used in preventing VAP include deep vein thrombosis prophylaxis, head of bed elevation, sedation, and the washing of hands and mouth care, which can also be facilitated by the patients. The theory guides in the collection of various proven strategies used as therapeutic measures in preventing VAP, to create a more effective approach to improve the healthcare outcome. It is believed that when more interventions are jointly implemented to prevent VAP, it results to considerable healthcare improvements (Guterres da Silva et al., 2012). There is no need to include all possible therapeutic strategies. Only those that are evidence-based and can produce the most desired outcome can be embraced. Explain how you will incorporate the theory into your project.
The theory will be incorporated into my project to provide the hallmark under which to properly select various evidence-based interventions that can be effectively employed to produce the desired outcome in preventing VAP (Fuglsang, 2008). This would facilitate the designing of a suitable approach or practices that converge at providing the best care for preventing VAP. By adhering to the theoretical perspectives of convergent-care approach, one would be able to identify the best methodology to use in selecting the most appropriate ways to create the best bundle practices for preventing VAP (Winters & Berenholtz, 2013).
