Evolution of American Military
Introduction
The United States is a global military power and therefore commands substantial respect across the spectrum. The U.S military troops played a significant role in bringing relative peace to the world following the events of the first and second world wars. Pax Americana is often used to describe the concept of relative peace that was witnessed in the Western Hemisphere and later in the rest of the world starting around the middle of the twentieth century. The relative peace often applied to the case of Pax Americana has been thought to have been caused by the preponderance of power enjoyed by America.
In most instances, Pax Americana has been used in modern settings to describe the peace enjoyed by the great powers after the Second World War in 1945. In this respect, Pax Americana has been used to indicate the economic and military influence of the United States in relation to countries in Europe and Asia.
