Introduction
Both the privacy and information security have positive impact on cyber safety. However, the two have differences. Privacy refers to any rights a person have to control personal information and how it is used. On the other hand, security refers to how personal information is protected. Actually, security is the personal freedom from external forces. Security is the state of being free from dangers and threats. Data security protects valuable information and data from hackers through protecting documents and passwords. Indeed, security is a protective measure enacted to protect digital data from unauthorized users like hackers and cyber criminals. Strict security protocols and measures enable preventing unauthorized access. Therefore, it is recommended to protect online accounts with strong passwords, with different combinations. However, privacy is a person’s right to freedom from prying eyes and intrusion. It is the state of being free from secret surveillance and unwanted attention (Mather, Kumaraswamy, Latif, 2018). This paper discusses the differences between privacy and information security.
