Abstract
This paper looks at violence and religious terrorism whereby religiously motivated terrorism is is seen to be of higher threat as compared to the terrorist of political means. This paper also looks at the Islamist terrorism whereby it reveals that since 1979 Islamic revolution of Iran, there has been a stable increase in Islamist terrorism. This paper further looks at loyalty and commitment in religion based violence whereby it reveals that the religion provides a sense of hope as well as provides individuals the enticement to assemble that goes beyond worldly enticement. It is noted that the commitment and loyalty to religion and God surpasses any other commitment. This paper also looks at the recommendations of the future research whereby it is recommended that in the future research statistical analysis should be applied to look at the robustness of the correlation between the religious insecurity and violence, at the same time as accounting for other variables that might have an impact on variations on terrorist targeting.
