Introduction
If you don’t know where you are going then one can go anywhere, indeed this presents a very precarious situation because it will lead the organization to dangerous grounds. For leaders of organizations they must understand that if they are not led by a mission or vision then the strategic goals they set may not have a competitive advantage (Papadakis & Barwise, 2012). The company will need to list a mission statement and the leaders will endeavor to live by it in view of the fact that it defines and upholds what the company stands for, its purpose and reason for existing. The leader is charged will implementing a success, performance and productivity strategy for the company and this will remain underutilized if it will be implemented without focusing on the company’s mission.
The leader also needs to make sure they unite the brand and culture with the vision and mission of the company since it will give the much required strategy for a strong and lasting foundation. The employees must in turn be well incorporated in promoting the mission where it must be a high level of engagement so that they can focus on the positive work (Bolland & Lopes, 2018). Once every employee in the company is involved then they will fall in love with the work experience and ensure higher levels of engagement and productivity. This also creates loyalty to the brand and in the long run there will be reduced costs due to efficiencies created by commitment to the mission. The workers that are committed to and understand the mission are more likely to stay longer in the company and be higher performers.
