Aviation is an important part of any economy in the world. Aviation provides for the movement of goods and people across the world, hence enabling economic growth. In the last three decades, there has been a fold increase in the mobility provided by air transport system. As a result, there is an urgent and compelling need to address the environmental effects of air transport. There is a strong demand in the aviation industry in the contemporary world, and as a result, emissions from aviation pollutants have increased significantly. Millions of people across the globe are being affected by the side effects of air transportation. “As a result of these factors and the rising value being placed on environmental quality, there are increasing constraints on the mobility, economic vitality and security of the nation”(Budd and Griggs, 2013, p. 45). It should be noted that there are a number of airport expansion plans that have been cancelled or delayed due to the concerns over water quality, air quality and impacts of air noise.
On the other hand, military readiness has faced challenges by operations restrictions. Arguably, these effects are likely to grow as the demand for air transport and economy grows. If these concerns are not addressed, then environmental effects may be the fundamental constraints on aviation growth in the coming years.

Commercial airlines comprises of almost 70 percent of NOx emissions in the aircraft sector. On the other hand, the aviation industry is a health risk for more than 155 compounds, and these compounds include 15 carbonyl compounds, 147 VOCs, 15 PAHs and 4 criteria pollutants (SO2, CO, PM10, and NOx).arguably, emissions of aircrafts gives rise to critical environmental concerns about their global impacts as well as their effects on air quality at
