Leadership From a Biblical Perspective

Introduction
An effective leader is a leader with a strong personality that exhibits integrity, truthfulness, honesty, and ethics. We can as well find these characteristics in the bible from the time of creation. In the beginning, we were created with unique qualities like leadership, but some people show this ability than others. From a biblical point of view, leaders are supposed to lead from a Christian angle. "In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.” (Proverbs 16:9, NIV). There are many aspects of leadership for leading an organization or a group of people. To be a leader, you have to influence people and portray a servant leadership style involving people in decision-making where appropriate (Sendjaya, 2015). In Christianity, a leader is called a servant like Jesus Christ was. Jesus christ lead by serving people and no selfish act during his service. Philippians 2:3(NIV) says "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves".
Core attributes
According to servant leadership, its crucial to seek God's guidance. “To humans belong the plans of the heart, but from the LORD comes the proper answer of the tongue”(Proverbs 16:1, NIV). To effectively guide others, God must order the steps towards success. With this method, the team members follow the leader and carry out all tasks with spiritual guidance. Secondly, apart from having a prominent ego, leaders should have ambitions. Laureani and Antony (2017) says that a leader causes many problems to the ministry when he turns the ego on others. "The LORD detests all the proud of heart. Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished"(Proverbs 16:5, NIV).
