Can China Become Number One Superpower? (Research Paper Sample)

Instructions:

China is the world's largest consumer of nonrenewable energy and is to blame for a significant portion of its environmental p As a result of Deng Xiaoping's policy and economic reforms, China rose to great heights near the twentieth century. The positive reforms include urbanization and a focus on development. However, challenges like population growth, poverty, and environmental concerns are stifling the upward trend. Some critical social, economic, cultural, and political issues are vital for China to rise to a higher level. The country has undeniably grown in stature and is now among the world's most powerful nations. Still, it will take over a decade to overcome powers like Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
China's rise has been spectacular, and the country has the potential to become a world superpower. According to Britt (2008), the characteristics that define a superpower are international influence, a large economy, GDP, research and technology, and a strong military. China can be a global trading force in all of the sectors mentioned above, particularly economic growth. China has also cemented its position as a political power, particularly in Asia. China's GDP had already surpassed that of the United States by 2014, and if current rates continue, it could more than double by 2030 (Abdullahi and Phiri, 2019). China's economy is not only the fastest growing in the world, but it also has significant economic significance due to its large population.
A superpower must wield enough global power to be able to destroy the rest of the world. The United States currently has a level of dominance rivaled only once by the Soviet Union. China's military capabilities are not among the most advanced. Nonetheless, its economic progress enables it to invest in an industry dominated by Russia and the United States. Furthermore, because of its population and drafting technique, they have the largest army. The country recognizes the importance of military might. According to the industry's 175 billion dollar budget for 2018, it is currently focusing on technology and restructuring its People's Liberation Army (Abdullahi and Phiri, 2019). China's political clout has grown in recent years, particularly in Asia. The nation is a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (Yao, 2007). Mitigating political conflicts, such as North Korea's, is one way the country has demonstrated its political clout. China is, without a doubt, one of the world's most powerful countries
