Introduction
Water conservation has been an essential exercise in Indonesia. It is a practice that helps in ensuring water is used with no unnecessary wastages. Shortage of clean water has been striking in the recent past. Coming up with mobile apps has been one of the campaigns of water saving projects in a place like Indonesia. The paper will give a profound analysis of a campaign in regards to water conservation in Indonesia aiming at coming up with a mobile water saving app.
Through the cultural (socio-religious), demographic (age), technological current technology e.g. internet and smartphones), economic and political (legislations and regulations) approaches, the discussion explores the presence of a growing market for mobile applications in the target group. This implies that the manner of introducing of the application in the region will determine how the market reacts to the product (Bank 2019). Therefore, the launch of the application should consider the actual attributes that define the features of the target population. The rationale of the campaign is to develop and progress the culture of water conservation by introducing a unique product that shapes water conservation in the house.
Taman Pintar has developed a mobile app that can be used in Indonesia to help in water conservation. As a science center operating under the City Government of Yogyakarta to promote science and education, it aims to give people exposure to new ideas on how saving water can be done conveniently. The app will be more appropriate since it is a modern technique of conserving water. In this case, the target audience being children aged 6 to 12 years; the app will be valuable in educating them on the importance and art of water preservation (Aabi et al 2018). The app will also help in creating awareness of saving water for other people who have inadequate access to clean water. The app will focus on parents monitoring how the children use water at home and guide them on how they should regulate water wastages. The water saving app will be easy for people to use at their comfort zones, (Cibro 2016). Besides, the app will be more efficient since it will be downloaded in people’s phones and will keep notifying them on water conservation as they carry on their daily practices.
