Housing in America
Introduction
The contemporary buildings’ architectural designs in American cities, towns, and suburbs can be attributed to some prominent figures who championed them in the society. America has undergone tremendous changes in many areas, such as industrialization, which later led to urbanization. Additionally, the former resulted in improvement of infrastructure such as the current transport and communication systems that serve the society today. Moreover, appealing and magnificent buildings are depicted with a variety of attractive modern architectural designs. However, urbanization could not have been attained in the US and other countries without the contributions of architects such as Catherine Bauer, who made significant contributions to the community by advocating for housing reforms as the federal government was reluctant to improve housing. She focused her attention on upgraded housing and urban planning, particularly for the sake of low-income earners across the country (Oberlander & Newbrun 1999). Principally, she led a movement of urban reformists or lobbyists who streamlined America’s urban policies towards better housing and planning.
