Executive summary
This report focuses on how to manage diversity and equal opportunities. The report gives explanations on how companies put in place measures to ensure that provision of equal opportunities to the people is effectuated. The report, therefore, gives a view on strategies to be used in ensuring female managers are well represented in the senior positions. The report bases on a case study of Altamira Software Company situated at Mill Valley in California.
The key findings are that companies have diversified methods to ensure that the issue of workers representation in the firm is well catered for. These include programs that manage workforce data that ensures methods of hiring, promoting and paying workers are monitored well. Diversity metrics, measurements and strategy programs have also been put in place to manage and ensure equality of workers. There is also effective complaint resolution process that encourages whistleblowing in the companies. Theories like optimal distinctiveness theory, have helped in the analysis in understanding different strategies put in place
Different issues encountered in the implementing these strategies have also been captured in the paper including inability to manage diversity of cultures that various people uphold in the company
