Corporate-level strategies are designed continuously to respond to two vital questions: one, what product market and businesses a firm should direct its means and two, how their operations should be managed. Venturing into new, related or similar businesses is one of many corporate-level strategies that once adopted, a firm’s value is likely to appreciate. Diversification can either be at a low-level, where 70% to 95% or more of total revenues originate from one business, moderate level – less than 70% revenue is from the dominating business and units have a robust linkage, or very high-level where less 70% revenue comes from the dominant business and the units are unlinked.
