How social media affects the way of communication in relationships
Communication is a critical element in any relationship because it allows for the expression of ideas and thoughts between different people. It is only through a communication process that we can understand each other as human beings. There are many ways of communication, and each style has a different level of impact on a relationship. The rise in the use of technology has promoted the use of social media for communication; social media is now eliminating face to face communication in many relationships. Social media allows online communication where it occurs on various channels including Facebook, what Sapp, twitter, Instagram, snap chat and type. Social media allows people who are geographically separated to communicate instantly at the touch of a button through the mobile phone, tablet or computer. All kinds of information can be performed using these platforms including arranging of the event, connecting with friends and sharing of memories. Studies show that more than 50% of social media users agree that social media has negatively affected their relationships (Silva Para 3). This explains how social media has gained acceptance in society. However, the channel of communication has a significant effect on how we tend to relate with one another.
