IMPORTANCE OF ACADEMIC WRITING FOR BUSINESS
Reflection is a response to an opinion, event, or experience where personal thoughts and feelings are expressed through writing (Kathpalia & Heah, 2008). In this regard, a reflection creates self-awareness in an individual, develops their creative thinking skills, encourage their active engagements as well as allowing them to achieve clarity in their studies (Lew & Schmidt, 2011). Therefore, I will use a Gibbs Schon’s model of reflection as it will help me describe my experiences during my learning, share my feelings and thoughts about those experiences, evaluate both the good and bad experiences and explain my understanding of academic writing and how I will use the skills in my future career. (The University of Edinburgh, 2020).  Therefore, I will reflect on the importance of the academic writing and research skills I have attained during my learning, that is, reading and writing skills, skills to source information and facts, and team working skills , and how these skills have helped me in my personal growth.

As a result, I have learned the importance of persistence, practice, and patience in academic writing as a learning process. In the same way, business people are encouraged to read vastly to equip themselves with knowledge and skills about their businesses that eventually help them run their businesses and careers successfully. For instance, a business may hire a consultant or researcher to break down complex business information or issues and offer their understanding or opinion on an issue. Thus, the researcher will need to be fully equipped with proper reading, writing, and analytical skills to help them break down such critical information for the business in question. For this reason, I was able to learn how to source for factual information through different research projects and how to recognize these sources where I had to search for a number of sources online in addition to books and journals, which was a little tasking. The failure to cite the sources and present factual information leads to the rejection of a project as it is believed that the project
