1.0: INTRODUCTION
Diabetes and mental illness are among the most prevalent diseases in the United Kingdom. According to research conducted by Diabetes UK (2010), people with these disorders die prematurely as compared to other diseases. Furthermore, other than accidental or un-natural death, the number of deaths from diabetes and mental illness is considered high.
The relationship between diabetes and mental illness is now recognized on a broader scale CITATION Dia10 \l 1033 (Diabetes U.K 2010).
There are two types of diabetes found in co-occurrence with schizophrenia due to the pairing of glucose tolerance, which affects the overall health of a person. Both diseases collectively affect substances which are present in the human body. This affects the entire health of the individual and in severe case leads to mortality. Through other extensive research, it has also been reported that people with diabetes are more likely to die early as compared to people without the evidences of diabetes in their bodies CITATION Yan14 \l 1033 (Vinogradova et al. 2014).
The hypothesis for this study states that diabetes and mental health are interdependent. The question for this research state is there a link between antipsychotic medication and diabetes.
This research is important as it would provide rich insights in to the reasons behind the prevalence of diabetes among people who already suffer from mental illness. It will explain the links between both diseases and their effects on human physical health, plus the mental abilities of the people
suffering through it. All the factual information used within this analysis has been extracted from several experts' researches. Furthermore this report will explain how these mentioned factors could be controlled by enabling people to take responsibility in an attempt to prevent the contracting of this illness. It can also encourage people with this illness to maintain a healthy life style, by providing them with helpful information and guidance in order to prevent the worsening of the illness that could lead to death.

Qualitative research design is a method in which qualitative information is collected and the results are presented in the descriptive way CITATION QSR14 \l 1033 (QSR International Pty Ltd 2014).
