The portrait of the painter Armand Guillaumin is a historic paintin depicting a picture of a clothed man wearing a hat. The man in the painting is sitted on the ground facing In with the arms folded. In this painting, at the top left there is also a sketch of a man hanging in a wooden framework. The material used in the painting by Paul Cezanne is made by etching where it has been cut into a surface with a corrosive substance to form a pattern. In addition, in the portrait painting, the sitting man portrayed and the hanging man in the wooden framework is pigmented by a black ink where else the depicted scenery in the rear of the portrait is pigmented by a cream white color.

Paul Cezanne who was a French artist made this portrait painting when he was living in Paris France for his friend and a fellow painter Armand Guillaumin. This portray painting object refers indirectly to a previous painting, which Cezanne had made in the previous year known as the Hanged man’s house. This previous painting was made while he was living in Auvers-sur-Oise, a commune located in the northwest of Paris in France and through the hanging man in the wooden framework in Guilliamin’s portray, and he is able to refer back to it.
