Introduction
Gifted and talented children in the United States require a redefinition of general education. A gifted child example is Ron Turiello’s daughter; at seven months old, she could categorize objects and match an elephant drawing with a stuffed elephant or a plastic one. At age five, on a family vacation, she correctly identified a passing fish in the waters as Heller's barracuda. Also, she asked, "Where are the rest they usually travel in schools?" some parents assume that such gifted children will do well in a normal school setting. However, such children need a special environment based on their experience. Gifted and talented education is for enrichment and acceleration in related materials and also ensures the student is at similar curriculum milestones with other students. Gifted and talented students programs target conducting a program of evidence-based research, demonstrations, and innovations, among other activities that purpose on building and enhancing the capacity of elementary and secondary schools, which identifies gifted and talented students to meet their special educational requirements that the US government should redefine.

Currently, gifted and talented education varies widely across the United States. However, the federal government acknowledges that students with gifts and talents require unique educational platforms rather than the traditional and regular school setting. There is a lack of specific provisions, mandates, and requirements to serve gifted and talented students. So far, the gifted and talented education program is purely a local initiative and looks up to local leadership.
