Abstract
This proposal is presented to the Chief Executive Officer of Amazon to outline strategies and recommendations that can help the company improve its sales volumes as well as profit margins. Amazon, a retail giant, has experienced explosive growth since its founding in 1994. However, it has been unable to remain competitive with market leaders in terms of market share. This is attributed to the relatively high prices that are charged for goods, high costs of operation and production as well as a narrow product base that does not cover all the market segments sufficiently. To solve this dilemma, recommendations include optimization of supply chain processes to reduce the cost of operation and increase efficiency, intensifying marketing for physical shop products, and finally, diversification of the products to capture all interest groups, especially millennials.
