Abstract
Cloud computing has existed in a widely dynamic state of both communication technology and information technology. It has hence introduced a lot of changes that have increased challenges regarding the protection of both environment and natural resources. Cloud computing has redesigned modern networking, and offered reliable environmental conservation prospects. This has added a lot of potential in the improvement of energy efficiency in the reduction of carbon, hence leading to green cloud computing.
There has been a great desire to monitor and control what happens in the ecosystems, as a way of protecting and conserving them. Green cloud computing is getting embraced in the process of saving energy and reducing carbon-footprint in this age. There are only two options that we have to achieve this green cloud computing from the perspective of energy efficiency, which are the use of clean energy, and improvement of the cloud energy efficiency.
Introduction
* Background information
The importance of sustainability to both developer and the users of hardware and software, according to Jeba & Roy (2021), has increased in the recent past. This has been influenced by several things, and one of them is a huge increment in the rate at which energy is consumed. With the aim of promoting sustainable green developments, a knowledge of the impact of both communication technology and information technology in the whole life cycle is required.
As stated by Mishra & Puthal (2018), the two technologies can greatly influence changes in the condition of our environments and therefore affect our lives. Production is expected to be done within the laid regulations, which include measures to conserve the environment, and/ or reduced impact on the existence of natural ecosystems. The green qualities of both information technology and communication technology are among many others, green ICTs, and green computing. Any decision made concerning these technologies must be done post a careful consideration of the impact they might cause both now and in future, to environment, and sources of natural resources such as energy.
There has been a great desire to monitor and control what happens in the ecosystems, as a way of protecting and conserving them, according to Masdari & Zangakani (2020). These has increased the use of both green ICTs and green computing in dealing environmental matters. This is because these clouding computing qualities have a wide range of domains, due to their reliability, scalability, trustworthiness, and also cheap high performance offers.
* Problem statement
Due to the increased interest in monitoring and protecting our ecosystems, control has been embraced. The use of green cloud technology has been widely accepted in reducing carbon-foot and saving energy in this era. If the use of green cloud computing to conserve is effective, then the following questions arise:
* How does green cloud computing affect energy, such that it conserves it?
* Are the effects short-term or long-term?
* If there are long-term effects, how will they influence the availability of energy in the future?
* Objectives
These research aims at establishing the diverse ways in which green cloud computing affect energy conservation. The next thing will finding out whether each way in which green cloud computing affects energy conservation is temporal or permanent. After this the effects will be grouped into two short; short-term and long-term effects. The other thing will be finding out whether the long-term effects will influence the availability of energy in the future, and how.
Literature review
Cloud computing is now a very important model offering dynamic computing capabilities, which involve complex activities such as data archiving, according to Dang & Piran (2019). With its use of cloud data stations via virtualized technologies, cloud computing provides an easily adaptable and powerful computer environment. It has therefore reduced the expenses used in the installation of both hard and soft-wares, hence promoted itself by attracting many of the modern organizations.
As stated by Radu (2017), cloud computing is known for its unique features, which include scalability, self-service, service-centric, ubiquitous, and consumption-based. It is a kind of a distributed parallel system that consists of a group of virtualized inter-connected computers, which have a dynamic provisioning. They are then presented as a single computing resource, which is more unified. Cloud computing has an integration models and technologies, aimed at optimizing the usage of logical and physical resources.
Business people find cloud computing pleasant due to its dynamic increase in the resources accessed at a time, which match the activities in the businesses, as argued by Dang & Piran (2019). It brings better strategies usable for more energy efficiency, reduce the release or Carbon dioxide to the atmosphere, as well as reducing equipment requirement. This technology is widely growing each day, due to its benefits offered to its users, whether in public or individual investments
Methodology
In my research, I’ll use conduct survey, which are academic literature and non-academic studies.
* Academic literature
In this survey I will collect all forms of information available regarding green cloud computing, and how it works. This information will come from journal papers, books and conference papers, available scientific databases such as Scopus, Science Direct, IEEE Computer Science, among others. Through these databases I will access leading journals in computer science, highly esteemed publication from computer science conferences, and other reliable sources of information.
