The success of a communication channel is measured by its ability to portray the objective of the sender. Clampit (2010) is of the assumption that an organization should focus on the use and realization of an appropriate channel. The use of the sender, message, receiver model, a leader should ensure each step is done in consideration of the final goal and objective.
A leader uses the model in the creation of the message and selecting the proper channel to use. Appropriately, the leader selects the sender of the message based on their level of authority. For instance, department heads should be used. Each message is directed to a specific receiver based on content. On the other hand, the leader may use the model but disregards their role as the sender. In the large organization, a leader is not best placed to communicate to all departments concisely and accurately. In addition, the message to each level of the organization should be addressed independently.
