Phases in Project Management
The sub-processes implemented in Phase I and the reasons they were done first.
There are two sub-processes that were implemented in phase I. These two sub-processes are selection and promotion of best practices and introductory project health checks. Selection and promotion of best practices involves identification of most suitable means of accomplishing a specific task at a very convenient and efficient manner. The means identified are then adopted by an organization so as to help it achieve its specific targets or mission in project implementation. Project health checks are measures that are introduced in a project or during project planning so as to confirm how well or bad the project is being implemented. The health checks acts like monitors and thus enables project managers or project team to realize any form of underperformance, negligence, breakdown, failure or incoordination among other factors that could derail project execution and offer timely solution as soon as possible. These two processes were done first as they form the basis required in defining how a project will first be achieved from the start to the end. Organizations have target goals to achieve and without proper means of accomplishing them, it’s hard to achieve. Harris, P. E. (2010), observes that, it is prudent to have challenges identified and controlled during project implementation. The necessary control measures that will be adopted allows proper resources allocation. The two sub-processes can also be used to project how an organization can optimize its resources for an increased productivity. At this level, the project quality and expectation can be defined and specific allocations or resources aligned so as to achieve the best quality.
