American culture is observed to be extreme powerful and influential to all corners of the entire globe since the era of the Second World War. The Western Hemisphere culture later United States has been renown since the establishment of the nation. The influence of the culture is endorsed by diverse society freedom of deferent races and countries (Osborn, 2006).
Culture is defined as the diverse precepts of traditional behaviors that are expressed by human race which every generation is intended to learn .On the other hand, it can be described as characteristics traditional behavior forms on a particular society , area, race or during a certain era.
The Vietnam War is considered with a notable impact on the American modern culture where the aftermath of obscures episodes during the time of serious conflicts came to cease. During the 20th century, the absurd and longest American war took place, which later came to influence the next generation of American society.
At the time, the war perceptions on various innovative factors evolved. The mass media and especially the television coverage replacing the newspapers and radio broadcasting played decisive role of transmitting the war information at the time. The war themes were seen on various newspapers and television channel that caused anti-war protests and uproar of the American society.
The American memory through civil movements encompasses dangerous and powerful contested channels. The impact of cold war on the development of civil rights entails the cultural sociology that was developed during the era. In the 1960’s the African Americans and anti-Vietnam war activists were determined to fight for the human rights.
According to Statler and Johns (2006), the social movements were affected by both internal and external factors. Therefore, approach of the political process determined the social movement’s potentiality because it focused mainly on economic and political institutions. Thus, in order to comprehend dynamics of the civil rights movements, internal and external factors are disentangled.
Statement of the problem
By examining the impact of the Vietnam War on American culture, there are no concrete studies that can be drawn based on the available literature. Further, the available information through media channels is unfiltered. As such, this research seeks to find out the impact of Vietnam War on American culture.
