Abstract
Technological growth has brought a tremendous improvement in the healthcare sector in organization and service delivery. Recent and emerging technologies have played a crucial role in improving the quality of life and health of individuals (Emery J & Emery P, 2012). Beforehand, the healthcare system relied on a paper-based system to keep records of patients’ health information. However new electronic technology and information systems have helped health practitioners to keep track and integrate patients’ records more efficiently and effectively. The structuring and delivery of services in healthcare bank on information technology. Healthcare information is worthless unless it gathered together and communicated effectively. Thus, communication technology is of great importance. Communication technology is ineffectual if the information is not meaningful, comprehensible and manageable (Tyrell, 2002). Therefore, the inter-fuse of information and communication technologies and proper use by staff helps support and improve the healthcare system.
