Abstract
This paper is majorly talking on the positive and the negative aspect globalization has done to the world. As much we embraced technology and believed it was the best solution that we ever had in the world, it came with its dangers of which if they are not adhered to they may end up making the world into ruins. Globalization has made the world to end up being Unequal hence making some nations to be superior to others. Hover in the same line it has helped many nations to gain a lot of capital and develop their countries. This and many more are the elements meant to be highlighted in this paper.
Introduction
The introduction of globalization has made many countries to develop to un-expectable heights. In the introduction of globalization it has lead to development of such things like electric trains, electric cars, high-tech factories to mention just but a few. When first globalization came into existence many countries did not know how to welcome the factors behind it so some ended up shunning it. Countries like china and Japan have been able to rise from being third world countries to first world countries all because of technology. However in the same line most African countries have been neglected all because they have been able to rise to such standards. All in all globalization came to make our lives easier but in the same case it not all countries have benefited from it.
Global inequality
In different forms the world has been overtaken with globalization. For instance in Africa as much as the resources are available globalization has not been beneficial to all. After colonization most African countries tried all their best but yet the western countries find it hard to accept this concept. In most of these countries when they gained independence the number one priority was education. Over the years the people have gotten the education but yet they cannot compete with the other nations (Lechner 2009). As the people got out doing various jobs from the education the people yet end up earning very little? In the same aspect the few who could go out there and plant they ended up not benefiting because the government ended up favoring the people with the big estates of which the majority the farms belonged to the whites. The government believed that this will be able to help the country get more income but instead it still favored the whites. Most of the products produced in the African countries are regarded to be inferior. The coffee would be harvested from these countries and taken abroad to be processed and yet there are factories in those third world countries. For this it has made most people to flee the countries to go abroad and work so as to make ends meet. In the process the few factories which are found in this countries end up getting spoilt and most cases they are never upgraded. The other plight of globalization is the greed of the leaders (lechner 2009). Most of these leaders are able to make factories which instead of them helping the people the people end up getting frustrated. The leaders get the money and put them in foreign accounts where instead of helping the people they end up making the foreign countries rich. It is interesting how some countries are dying of starvation while others people are suffering from obesity. How can the globalization benefit from these? The countries which have so much food should be able to help the countries that do not. The unfortunate part this is not the case. The countries with plenty still find ways on getting from the countries with very little in the name of food security. Do you want to mean these countries are of different planets? How can globalization be beneficial to all and yet the rich countries still continue to enjoy modest inflation and modest productivity. These countries when they say they are helping the only way they do it, is by giving the rejects to the third world countries. Yet we say the world is a global village hence people should be each other’s keepers.
Advanced technology
Different forms of technologies are coming up each day. This advances making the world to be smaller and smaller. For instance the use of mobiles, internet, and airlines has made most countries to just be like one unit. The sad part this technologies are not evenly distributed. The technologies such as in communication sector have not yet been equally distributed. While some nations are enjoying the beauty of mobile phones others do not have an idea of even a landline (potter). Statistic show those countries which have been able to keep in touch with the development of every technology have benefitted the most from globalization. For instance if a company can afford to have emails or video conferencing they do not need to worry about wasting time going to various countries so as to have business meetings but instead they have been able to unite with different countries by just pressing a button. However this becomes a disadvantage to the countries that cannot afford or are not in touch with such technologies. This disadvantage becomes stronger because by the time they get to enjoy the fruits the rest are enjoying they have long been left behind. These technologies have also made the world to move up very fast. The sad part just like in a race not everyone can be on the front line hence making the ones left behind not to benefit from globalization. As much as new technologies are coming up globalization will continue to increase but failing to favor a few.
Equal chances
As much as some countries have developed more than others it is important if countries are given equal chances. The past years countries like America has been producing multimillionaires does this mean other nations especially in the third world countries cannot perform to such levels (Gideon 2009). When a country in Africa comes up with ways of enhancing the globe they should be allowed to produce it without shunning them down. For instance the development of the electric car was discovered by someone in the third world country but instead all the honor to be given to them the wealthy countries take the concept and give themselves the credit instead. The toughest education system is believed to be in the third world countries but yet when the people from these countries go to compete with the rest of the world they are mad to feel like they are inferior. The rich countries should also give the other countries develop themselves by them not dictating to them how they should run their countries and the likes. Globalization will also be effective if the different groups’ people are allowed to lea...
