Anthony was born in 1599 and was an artist in Flemish Baroque as well as a leading England court painter. He was also famous in Italy with portraits like those of Duchess d'Havre and Child and England’s Charles I which painted in a calm elegance that was a foremost stimulus on English portrait-painting. The lusciousness painting portrays a middle age woman whose gorgeous details, through Antony’s creative art retains originality with necklace pearls around her neck and jewelry on her silk dress whose attractive folds have well painted. In 1620, he went to England where he worked for England’s King James I, with the encouragement of G. Villiers, and later in 1630 become Archduchess Isabella’s court painter, who was the Habsburg Governor. This is the period he made many religious works and print. This blended well with King Charles I, a passionate collector of art who saw it as an endorsement to his high outlook empire. Van Dyck remained in contact with the court in England and helped agents of King Charles picture searching.

The painting portrays a dramatic thunderstorm that meets a seafaring crew with thick features of white oil paint extensive diagonal strokes representing rain. To contrast the force poetically, Van uses a considerable solvent amount to in weakening his paint to handle the region below the horizon. He has further used a good mixture on the surface to paint weak pending trees as well as a submissive wave. The high flying flag creates a sense of pride. Jan was born in 1596 and was a painter of the Dutch landscape. He was a highly prolific artist producing almost 1200 known paintings and over 1000 drawings. The woman’s neckline painted with a thin decorum, and she is in a plain dress. The skin is painted white and pale while her face has a pinkish makeup on the chicks casting a youthful glow of the portrait. However, the hands appear distorted and poorly depicted as they don’t match forearms although everything has been carefully crafted. Perhaps Joshua is depicting her hands in motion. The background is in simple tones contrasting Anne’s appearance hence an entire illuminating scene with strong red mantle colors and blue sash, an indication of loyalty. Townshend was the 2nd son of Field Marshal George and schooled at St John's College in Cambridge before his election to the Cambridge University House of Commons in 1780 until the year 1784 later representing Westminster (788-1790). Joshua Reynolds was born in 1723 and grew to be an influential 18th Century English painter whose area of specialization was portraits. His grand style of painting mainly relied on imperfect idealization. He established the Royal Academy of Arts and later became its president in 1769 through the influence of George III. He studied Old Masters while in Italy and was given a chance to learn with Pompeo Batoni, a leading Rome painter, but declined the offer. He did paint great works when in Rome.
