Machismo and Being Raised By a Single Dad
Over the past few years, the number of the children that are being raised in a single-parent home has doubled by nearly half. In most cases, the mothers are granted the custody of the children of which the case is slowly changing over time. Single dads are seen to be taking over the on an active parenting that needs more time with their children. According to tradition trends, the key duties of the fathers after the divorce was to provide for the children, he would visit them on weekends and have some little time with them. Today, new trend are growing and the parenting after divorce is taking another angle where the fathers are becoming more involved. In this study, the discussion will be based on the Machismo and being raised by a single dad.
The fathers in the current world have an expression of wanting to have more than stealing a few hours with their kids, and it is displaying an excellent picture. The dads in the Hispanic are seen to be changing with changes in time as the “machismo” prevalent for years in waning. It is seen as the cases of divorce is taking a better part of the trend today than ever and there are situations where the single dads in the Hispanic are claiming their rights to have the custody of their children. They are always seen to be on the hook avoiding the fights that in most cases transpire between them and their ex-wives as they make more efforts to tuning into the needs of their children. As single dads, they try as much to minimize the impacts that are entailed in the in the shared cases where shared custody is entailed. They dedicate themselves in defining all the needs that their children may be in need of. They also work towards ensuring that their children do not suffer a lot from the trauma of being in a single parent’s home. The fathers are always thinking about their children and thy will offer to make peace with their ex-wives while making decisions concerning their child to ensure that the child is comfortable. They maintain the same rules, he schedules, and the lifestyle as they ensure that their kids go through a smooth transition between the two homes (Díaz, n.p).
The challenge that always arises is avoiding being more overprotective as the dads will at all times give their kids a lot of attention. In the process of being insecure with the children, the parents will spoil their children by making them live the life that is unhealthy for them only because the dads wants to make them not see the effects of the parents being divorced. These dads always acknowledge that the machismo has been a better section of the society and that the model is fast changing. Most of the fathers are now trying to break the molds, and they are becoming more involved the same way the mothers are involved in bringing up their children that anyone can agree that it is difficult as men always less emotionally involved. When one does not get help from their families, it becomes more difficult.
In the United States, the single dads have gotten united in online forums where they all meet up for support. In these organizations, the fathers get the support and information related to the court proceedings and the issues in parenting. Many of the mothers who are filing for divorce are found to be having other motives behind the subject. Most of them intentionally need to benefit from the case guided by the traditions where people believe that they are the ones to be given the custody of the child. The mothers will always play the unfair trick to get all they can manage financially from their ex-husbands. As the time changes, the single dads are becoming happier as they develop both emotionally and physically as they mingle with the issues of parenting the same way the mothers have been doing.
The movie also shows that most of the fathers are ready to spend more time with their children but they are being challenged by the kind of jobs they are doing. In other circumstances some of them opted to change their works so that they can get the time they need to be around their kids. The culture is practically changing today and the fathers are taking in the spirit of getting involved with their children and spending more time with them. They are becoming more interesting each day and they give all the attention they can to raising their kids. The movie also implies that in the current world situation, the family courts are seen in most cases considering a single dad as a primary parent, and they may be given the full custody.
