Writing Styles and Literary Work of James Fenimore Cooper
Introduction
Writing is an art which has gained popularity because of its significance in conveying the indented message to people of all races and different ethnic extractions from all over the world. My essay aims at discussing the biography of the author, James Fenimore Cooper, his styles of writing, as well as a brief analysis of one of his literary work (Franklin., 2017).
Biography of James Fenimore Cooper
James Cooper was an iconic American novelist and writer in the early nineteenth century. He was born in New Jersey’s, Burlington in 15th of September in the year, 1789. His parents were William and Elizabeth and he was the eleventh of the thirteen siblings. Before he began writing, James Cooper used to be in the US Navy where he was functioning as the midshipman. The experience he gathered from his work as a midshipman in the US Navy has been seen in several of the work that he has done. James Cooper started his writing after he had a wager with Susan Augusta, his wife. James Cooper published ‘Precaution’ as his first book in 1820. His subsequent series include the tales on ‘leather-stocking’ which consequently led to the introduction of character Natty Bumppo. Other works by James Cooper include ‘a letter to his countrymen’, ‘the Pathfinder’, ‘the Praire’, ‘the American Democrat’, and ‘the Notion of Americans’. James Cooper’s books were widely popular and since the time of their writing to date, they have been termed as part of the American classics. Despite the fact that many of James Cooper’s were really enjoyed by several individuals of his time, it also worth noting that there some few sections of his society who greatly condemned James’ pieces of work as well as his approach. James Cooper died in the year 1851. At the period of his death, James Cooper was very much respected, appreciated as well as celebrated from overseas than it was in his own country. James Cooper found himself out of sync with the fellow countrymen (Franklin., 2017). However, from his works and influences, James Cooper was able to influence some European writers of that time such as Honore de Balze as well as Leo Tolstoy. Notably, James Cooper’s works in writing have been mostly played on themes like those addressing bigotry, didacticism as well as romance.
