Introduction
Newborn children in a family make great changes. It depends on the fact that newborn children require attention and particular treatment. Therefore, the arrival a new baby into a family always has variety of effects, including time, expenditure, and care. In addition, there are different social consequences, which able to affect family as a social unit. Psychological, biological, and social changes occur in the family when the number of its increases. All these changes affect the relations between a newborn child, parents and other children, if there are any. Each family member will have his/her own reaction after a newborn child appears in the house. Each individual will be affected differently depending on the event.
Social Situation of the Family
The baby girl I’ve visited was born in quite a normal family. Father and mother are married. They wished to have a child for a long time.. Trying to have a child, the mother had three miscarriages. Mum’s miscarriages can be explained by her ‘traumatic experience’. She had a ‘nervous wreck’. She was always anxious during each pregnancy. The hospital supported the family after three miscarriages. The mother has got an opportunity for a scan each 4 weeks. During pregnancy, mother would be okay for a few days after the scan, but soon she would become anxious again. The father of the newborn provided his wife with great support during those nine months. As the matter of fact, mother didn’t tell anyone about the miscarriages until the last pregnancy. She thought miscarriages may have been due to lifting heavy things at work. She was afraid that something would happen this time, so she told at work that she couldn’t lift heavy objects when pregnant. Both parents were extremely worried about the way their child is born. However, the clamp was used to pull baby out as the baby was stuck in birth canal. It was traumatic for both the mother and the child. However, the family was waiting for the child with the hope and desired to become parents.
