HOW TO GET RID OF SCARS
A scar is a mark on the skin sometimes left by the healing of a wound. A scar can come in any shape and size and it is not something that most people will gladly show off. Scars may be caused by injuries to the skin or medical conditions such as acne and chicken pox.
There are many kinds of medication available for removing scars ranging from natural remedies to medical remedies and to general care.
Natural Remedies.
Natural remedies for getting rid of scars are generally inexpensive. Ensure you have cleaned the scarred area well before using any remedy to avoid the substance from being mixed with dirt on the skin’s surface. Natural remedy should be used immediately after the wound has healed well and they require consistency so as to achieve the best results. There is wide variety of natural remedies including but not limited to the ones mentioned below.
Lemon Juice: Dip a cotton bud in lemon juice and rub the bud gently on the scarred area at least two times a day. Lemon contains alpha hydroxyl acids (AHL) which helps to remove dead skin and help new skin cells grow, bringing back the skins elasticity.
Raw honey: you can apply it directly on the scarred area or include it in your diet. It is a natural moisturizer and stimulates tissue regeneration. It also adds a natural glow to the skin.
Vitamin E: This is the oldest and most popular method or getting rid of scars quickly. Put the vitamin E oil on a cotton swab and dab it on the cleaned scar then cover the area with a light layer of gauze. Vitamin E is very strong and only requires a small amount to be effective. It is quickly absorbed into the skin healing the scar tissue.
Tomato: Eat them fresh and put some slices on the scar for about 25 minutes before taking a bath.
Aloe Vera: Squeeze out the gel of an Aloe Vera branch and apply it on the skin twice daily. The Aloe Vera gel helps to reduce skin irritations and remove dead skin from wounds. It can also lessen swelling and enhance the growth of new skin cells.
Cucumbers: Blend a peeled and seeded cucumber with some mint leaves and apply the paste to the scar. Leave it on for about 20 minutes then wash it off with cool water.
Water: Taking a lot of germ free water has a positive effect on your skin though it may not seem so obvious
Leafy vegetables: Eating green leafed vegetables freshen up the body glands and skin tissues, helping you get rid of acne and acne scars.
Apple cider vinegar: Mix water and the vinegar in the ratio of 1:1 and apply it on your face. Cleanse after 15 minutes.
Onion extract: it is an anti-inflammatory and can inhibit the production of collagen in a scar. However, this process is long and may take you several months before you begin to notice any changes.
Olive oil: It is rich in vitamins E and K that are high in anti-oxidants. Its high acidity level will help to lighten your skin. Rub a spoonful of olive oil on your affected skin area for about 5 minutes.
Massage: Regular and constant massage to the affected area loosens the muscles and blood vessels under the skin leading to increased blood flow to the affected area. This translates to more nutrients and minerals to the area that will help in eliminating the scar.
Combining the natural remedies and applying them simultaneously may give you a better result.
