From the case, James is undergoing the end phase kidney failure that requires a kidney donor for his life to be saved. The health issue began as an acute illness that slowly developed into a chronic condition and, ultimately, a critical one. It arose from a lack of hemodialysis after his parents opposed his treatment. James had a strep throat infection that developed into acute glomerulonephritis and exacerbated by hypertension and fluid retention that required immediate attention and dialysis. Delay to receive dialysis caused kidney failure that requires an immediate transplant. He has a fatal prognosis, especially if he does not locate a donor's kidney. The only treatment option left is dialysis. James has a twin brother who is a match and would be the most compatible donor. However, their parents are skeptical about giving consent because they are staunch Christian who have much faith that the only God can health James.
